Moose hasn’t had a solid bowel movement since he arrived and the usual chaos of puppy raising has been compounded by a persistent case of diarrhea. To make matters worse, I took a tumble down the stairs and injured my foot.
Moose is in great spirits but given the severity of his diarrhea, I had to take him to the vet yesterday. The worst case scenario – parvovirus, which can be deadly – was eliminated first and I was able to breathe easier once I had that negative parvovirus test result. Several more tests were run and it turns out Moose has a coccidia infection.
He was such a great patient during our hour-long visit. He was poked and prodded in numerous ways without a complaint. And then he just chilled out while we waited for test results, giving me a chance to capture some cute photos of him with my iPhone. He’s a natural for my camera! ❤️
Today, Moose is already feeling a lot better with a course of meds underway. Whether I need to see a doctor or not remains to be seen. But trying to stay off of my foot while caring for a puppy with diarrhea is a lost cause. 😂
