Following a long winter season, this week brought sunny skies and temperatures in the 70’s. I’m spending as much time as I can outside this week soaking up the sunshine I’m constantly craving. I moved my workouts outdoors this week, after spending the recent colder months primarily lifting in my indoor gym.
While the sled got some use over the winter, many days it was just too cold or the ground conditions were too slick with snow or ice. I’ve been looking forward to getting back to regular sled training and this week was the perfect time to start. I’ve been steadily progressing the load as I get back into pushing the sled this week and I’m looking forward to some heavy pushes in the coming weeks.
While the weather is beautiful, it still looks like winter, as the barren landscape tends to linger well into the spring season in Michigan. But I’ve got bluer skies, more daylight, and more sunny days, and this is all lifting my spirits. When I finally find myself living someplace sunny, I will appreciate it more after spending so much time in this gloomy climate. Until then, I’ll savor each day that I can spend training outside.
