Laurie Bartolo is no stranger to stress. A former executive, she spent over two decades in demanding jobs where she battled the stress monster every day. Her wake up call came in the form of a health scare, which ultimately led to an immersive study of healthy methods for managing stress. This personal experience inspired her to return to her roots in wellness so that she could help others achieve a greater sense of wellbeing.
Laurie’s work as a meditation teacher was born in response to the growing stress epidemic and the need for more widely available public education in stress management, mindfulness and meditation. Through workshops and private instruction, she helps others see the possibilities of a calmer existence amid the chaos of modern life. Her practical approach appeals to those seeking simple yet transformational techniques that lead to improvements in sleep quality, the ability to focus more easily, less reactivity to stress, higher energy levels, and a greater sense of wellbeing.
Laurie holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Education and Worksite Wellness from East Carolina University and became certified as a Holistic Stress Management Instructor after studying with world-renowned health psychologist and stress management expert Dr. Brian “Luke” Seaward in Boulder, Colorado. She is a certified Meditation and Mindfulness Instructor through the acclaimed McLean Meditation Institute in Sedona, Arizona. In addition to her professional training, Laurie has extensive experience as a human resources leader.
Laurie’s personal interests include photography, nature and the outdoors. She especially enjoys trail running, snowshoeing and long walks with her dogs. Her journey has taken her all over the United States from North Carolina, to Florida, Washington DC, New Mexico and currently Michigan, where she lives with her husband and two beloved dogs.
